Quoted from Hickweed’s MySpace:

“On Oct 11th, 2008 roughly around 2:30 in the morning I was involved in an attempted robbery. When I refused to hand over what I had it was quickly turned into an attempted murder.

Revolver to my head I moved toward my car to leave when he let the shot off. From point blank range the bullet infiltrated the lower left side of my neck, severed my spinal cord, and lodged itself into my spine. Instantly paralyzed, I fell into my car and heard the assailant run off without a dime.

At the time I didn’t realize why I couldn’t move anything but my head and right arm. I figured I was just hurt and in an awkward position.
Not knowing what to do I reached for my phone to call my Dad however I couldn’t pull my cell outta my pocket. I then proceeded to lay on the horn until police eventually arrived.

Meanwhile I heard a car or two drive by but nobody stopped as i lie there with my white tee covered in blood. I remember giving up for a minute convinced no one was gonna stop. I reached for the volume knob so I could bump sum 2pac before I passed on….I didn’t want that so I continued to honk.

Police arrived and with an $800 Ambulance ride later I’m in the I.C.U. on the road 2 recovery. The extent of my injury is paralysis from my mid-section or nipples down including my left arm - leaving me no feeling or movement anywhere but my right arm, head, neck, and part of my left shoulder.

Constantly all day - all the time I experience nerve pain in my left arm and hand. Its becoming more tolerable now. Instead of pain all day long sometimes its minor pain I can ignore or a numbness that I can handle also. Of course I do take meds 5 times a day and two of those times I take around 14 pills.

I am currently in a power chair to get around and I live in a rehab center trying to regain the strength I lost and the weight I lost. I have blessings from many people which I appreciate greatly including my family whom I see just about everyday. Thats pretty much it. I’m just trying to get better as best as I can and get out there on my own.

I’m hoping to eventually have my own place and go back to school so I can get some knowledge. I have no intentions on ending my role in the record label so beware! Watch out for me because when I’m ready for distribution because I’m coming hard. Much love…feel free to comment I’ll return the favor.”
